The Practice
Burlington Primary Care is a centre of town Practice working from a converted Victorian building. The Practice area covers the borough of Ipswich and serves about 16000 patients. On site we have District Nurses, a Counsellor, Phlebotomy and CMHT Link Worker in addition to the usual practice team.

The Training
This Practice has a long tradition of training including medical students from Cambridge and soon from UEA - this can allow experience as a teacher with the addition of feedback from the trainer.
The Registrar who will join us will have his own consulting room, which is fully equipped.
All the doctors have a keen interest in training and education and each or them has something to offer to the Registrar - from special interests to seeing a variety of practising styles.

The philosophy of the Practice is that the Registrar is here to learn and with adequate support, should involve himself fully in practice life. This will involve taking his own surgeries, taking part in on call duties, meetings, projects, audits and building up a small list of his own group of patients. This will allow the Registrar to enjoy managing a mixture of acute and chronic cases as well as exposing him to practice management and NHS politics.

There is protected time for teaching each week with teaching focused on the learners needs.
